The NSW 10000 metres Championships were held on Saturday, 6 October at The Crest. Illawong athletes put in outstanding performances and, in doing so, broke both the womens and mens club records.
Belinda Martin won the GOLD medal in the womens race in a time of 34 mins. 34.09 secs. It was a very comfortable win with the second placegetter 33 seconds behind Belinda. Mark Simpson finished 6th in the mens race in a time of 33 mins. 9.68 secs. This was a very good performance as Mark has only recently moved to this distance.
